ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a treatment which is increasingly popular, acknowledged both as alternative and supplement to western medicine.

Decease and pain are often caused by imbalance of the body’s energy system. By stimulating certain points along the body’s meridians with thin needles, the acupuncturist is able to regain the balance. This means pain and symptoms will disappear or heal.

Our acupuncturist is a member of the Norwegian Acupuncture Association and therefore subject to the association’s strict requirements.

IMS

IMS is acupuncture adjusted to muscle pain and lock-ups in particular. Due to stress or damage, the muscles are often shortened. Strain is very painful for the patient, not only in the actual muscle, but also in the tendons and joints close to the muscle.

IMS treatment will have the muscle “grip” the needle and force the shortened muscle to relax. The patients can feel the nibbling, and also the muscle can release. Afterwards, the pain will diminish. Additionally, we treat the segment in the back which irritates the actual muscles. This is important since the problem of the segment is the real cause for the muscle tightness.

The effect from IMS is gradually building up. Needling stimulates a certain amount of healing, and finally, the pain will disappear. Many patients treated with IMS has been painless for a long period of time or even years.
