SLAP – “superior labral tear from anterior to posterior"
A SLAP injury is often release by a sudden overload which breaks off the utter tolerance of the circumferential cartilage/labrum. The cartilage which is connected to the shoulder blade, is the link between your shoulder capsule, humerus and long biceps tension.
A SLAP injury will rip the labrum off the shoulder blade, leading to an unstable shoulder joint. The offensive pain will turn upwards towards the shoulder.
Symptoms:
-
Reduced strength when lifting
-
Pain from using the biceps muscles
-
Pain from lifting overhead
-
A feeling of the joint being unstable and tending to “click”

How we can help:
-
Our body will compensate for injuries on tissue structures, since the brain tries to spare you the pain. This kind of compensational pattern will lead to more pain or other kinds of disorders, with time. You might feel that the disorder never will heal, no matter what you try and do.

In addition to treating the local problem, KA Klinikken offers you an overall consultation with extensive tests based on the latest research. We analyze how your brain and your nerve system affect the rest of your body, aiming to reduce and remove unwanted pain, and obtain long lasting results.
